Accra, Ghana — The Attorney General’s Department is currently investigating more than 250 alleged cases of corruption, according to Deputy Information Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu. The announcement, made during a press briefing, comes in response to mounting public demand for greater transparency and accountability in government operations.
Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that the investigations span various sectors and involve both current and former public officials. He assured the public that the government remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals found culpable face the full rigors of justice. “No one is above the law,” he stated, adding that the Attorney General’s office is working diligently to bring closure to these cases.
The revelation has sparked renewed interest in Ghana’s anti-corruption efforts, with civil society groups urging swift and impartial prosecutions. As the investigations progress, citizens and watchdog organizations are closely monitoring outcomes, viewing them as a litmus test for the government’s resolve to combat graft and restore public trust.
