Kumasi, May 4, 2026 — The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that parts of the Ashanti Region will experience temporary power outages today as the utility undertakes scheduled maintenance works.

The exercise, which runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, will affect communities including Edwenase, Nwamase, Apire, Trede, Santasi, Twedie, Foase, and Manso Nkwanta. ECG officials explained that the planned interruptions are necessary to upgrade infrastructure and improve the reliability of electricity supply in the region.

Residents and businesses have been advised to make contingency arrangements, such as charging essential devices and adjusting daily schedules, to minimize inconvenience during the outage period.

ECG emphasized that the maintenance is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the national grid and reduce future breakdowns. The company assured customers that power will be restored promptly once the works are completed.
